it's tax day! which reminds me, i'm in trouble with the IRS. so i'm kinda like willie nelson, right? except i can't put out a reggae album to cover my debt. so, instead, i have to put aside my childrens book illustrator integrety and get some work! i'll draw what you need. i'll do it for money! i'll mow your yard (mentally) if that's what you need. ok, mail me at: jimitri@gmail.com and help me pay THE MAN!

good bye kurt vonnegut! this news saddens me because of all the people possible to check in with about what it is to be human, kurt has checked out. i read his books in my twenties and then again in my forties....and the same words had an entirely different meaning in the twenty years of my bumbling around. his writing helped me anchor my own vague thoughts and slow epiphonies about what we are doing here. secular humanism, human cruelty, those unaware workings of the divine, and the hiccups of family and loss. if i'm lucky i'll read them all again in my sixties and realize once more that i know so little. be a baby!

i just finished a series of posters for st. jude's pediatric cancer treatment center. they are for four seasonal parties for the kids there. i also completed work on three new books, one of them is actually old...it's a ten year anniversary version of Olive The Other Reindeer...and it has a big pop-up in it! it will be out this holiday season....

this is brewing: an entire site dedicated to the art of dog photography!
Quincythp.com is a fully animated site that allows users to post their photos of dogs, view others posts, and interact with quincy via email. keep checking back here to see when it is up and done.
i will give massive praise to the constructors of this site (shad petosky, King Mini and all those at PUNY) when it is up and awesome.

welcome back! or for the first time!

as some of you know, after a strong ten year presence on the interconnecternet...i got bumped, claim-jumped, hijacked out of my long held domain name. something about not being able to prove i was me (a very modern condition!) led the name gods to give jotto.com to a most useless gambling info site. the owner of which was so hard to get a hold of that the last attempt, a perfumed letter!, has now faded from any expectancy of a reply.

therefore....
i have a new name with the same old stuff. jottodotcom.com (naming thanks to shad petosky of PUNY) as a matter of fact shad needs to come out from those parenthesis and take my full gratitude for rescuing my site from all it's travesties!

anyway, that is the story of why i was gone.
